Customize Group Menu and add Custom Page

When clicking on Groups, I want to change the navigation options “All Groups” & “My Groups”, by removing the “All groups” tab, and Adding a “Search” tab.
I found in the groups\index.php it has the item-list-tabs, so I was able to remove ‘All groups’ and add a tab for ‘Search’ but how can I add a custom page/code to the Search?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
