Dashboard won't load after upgrade

    Hi all —

I just upgraded to the newest version of BuddyPress following the instructions here:

    –Deactivated BuddyPress

    –Deactivated all plug-ins

    –Used automatic upgrade

All was beautiful! Got into the back end just fine to reactivate everything. Went through checking for bugs and saw the Forum installation was broken after clicking the “forums” button on one of the groups. I realized the bp-config file must have been overwritten after I went to the dashboard and the config forums button threw a “that file is missing” message. Went to download that and opened up my wp-config file in Fetch (my FTP program) to pull the code and edit the bp-config file. Uploaded that and then I went back to the dashboard to check it out and it will no longer load. I’m getting this message:

    The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

    * This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept

    cookies.

Needless to say, it ain’t my cookies. The only errors I’m getting in my server’s error log relate to the buddypress forums missing — nothing about my root install. I figured what the heck and deleted the bp-config.php file since that’s the only thing that changed between the dashboard loading and the dashboard not loading but it didn’t do a thing.

    Any guesses?

    Thanks!

    Dawn

Do we have bp-config here? Being an active buddypress user, I’ve never seen it, nor faced any need to editing such files manually to use buddypress.

    I’m sorry — I mis-typed. I meant bb-config.php for bbPress.
