Date format on profile fields

Hi,

I’m using :
echo bp_member_profile_data('field=geboortedatum')

To display date of birth (geboortedatum in Dutch) of a member, This is a extra profile set as date selector, where the date format is set to d-m-Y.
But with this code it is displaying it as Y-m-d on the members loop.

How can I change the date format for the display? I don’t care how it is saved really, I just want to show it in like d-m-Y. (Normal for dates in Dutch)

bp_member_profile_data() will echo the data, so you shouldn’t add an echo.

Try:
```
$originalDate = bp_get_member_profile_data( 'field=geboortedatum' );
$newDate = date("d-m-Y", strtotime($originalDate));
echo $newDate;
```
