Default blogs for new user

  • I just installed latest budypress (plugin) on my WordPress MU, and running well. But if new user registration in my server. He only has budypress page, blog must be create after he is login and use other subdomain.

Why new user not automaticaly have one blog as blog default? If i am registration in my server with “fastest”, only faster.mydomain.com, i can see my budypress home, and if i click blogs tab,i can see my blog posting and in bottom, i can see list of all my blog address.

No we have fstest.mydoman.com as budypress page, and blogfastest.mydomain.com as my blog.

    Thank you

The signup is going to be changed to honor the user signup or blog signup. So when user on registration is enabled, a user will signup and create a home base only. When blog signup is enabled, they will create a username, home base and their first blog all together in one step.

Ok. Because if now i change with hard code to register blog, if new user is login in wp-admin, user must Create a Home Base, and use other subdomain.

This is excellent news Andy! I like the one shot creation of username, home-base and blog..

    Thanks!

I think I’m having a similar problem. If I create a new user, named “testuser” and try to go to his home, it takes me to testuser.mysite.com which doesn’t exist because I haven’t created that subdomain. What is supposed to happen and how can I fix it?

Nevermind, I figured it out. I hadn’t done the wildcard thing yet :)

What wildcard thing? I guess I’ll have to search around. I’m having the subdomain issue. New user makes a blog and gets newuser.subdomain.domainname.org. Gotta keep searching!

    :-)
