Default role for new users within BuddyPress?

    What should I set the default role to for new users whom I just want to use the activity stream once they sign up? By default a subscriber cannot add anything. I don’t want ‘users’ to be able to do anything via wp-admin either. If I changed the role to ‘contributor’ they can add blog post, which I don’t want allow. I simply want them to use the stream to post items, not any blog post, like in the demo.

    A user should be able to post to their activity stream even at the lowest WP role.

    testbp.org is an example of that.

    This is what I thought as well. I’m looking for the same as testbp.org. Strange I will try it again. Thank r-a-y

    ** OK it’s working maybe I missed a step. My test user is only a Subscriber and is able to post to the AS.**
