Default theme broken in older versions of IE ?

Hi,
Apologies if this has been addressed before, I have searched but only found different IE issues.
On a fresh install of the latest WordPress and Buddypress, the header navigation is broken on some versions of IE. versions 6 & 7 are definitely showing the error, not sure about 8, but 9 is okay).

I am assuming that I have missed a step in the configuration of something?

It would be great if all my users used non IE browsers, or at least the latest, but they will not and/or cant!

We’re aware of the IE7 problem with the nav header. It will be fixed in BP 1.5.1. We don’t support IE6, so here’s hoping the IE7 fix does that, too
