Deleting Multiple Messages Error

On my site, whenever I try to delete multiple messages at once I get the error “There was a problem deleting messages.” But when I click the “x” next to the message it will let me delete it that way one by one. Does anyone know what could be causing buddypress to not let me delete multiple messages?
I have deleted all unused plugins and deactivated the ones in use.
