Different Profile Types with 2.2, Fields and Profile Pages

Hi

So I know that v2.2 has some built in support for different member types. I was wondering if you can define completely different sets of profile fields for each member type rather than having the same fields for all members and then using conditional statements on the front-end?

Also, will we be able to define completely separate templates for the profile page for each member type or again, will we need to use conditional statements for this?

That’s indeed what comes to mind with the newly introduced member types.

I just came across that old plugin that used to provide a solution for having different profile types: https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-xprofiles-acl/

One may need to look into it to see how it could possibly give a headstart.
