Disable “has now registered” or “changed profile picture” in activity stream

The activity feed is completely clogged with tiny changes people make to their profiles, and I can’t seem to find the setting (or thread) that makes the activity stream show only what people post (and the main posts). Ideas?

I need to keep my Group updates/comment activity seperate from the main ‘activity’ stream, is it possible to achieve this with this plugin..?
