Hi, I don’t seem to be able to replicate this problem, does it happen with when you are using twentytwenty theme?
Have you tried disabling other plugins?
Hello,
What page did you try viewing?
The buddy press forms are on this page:
Register
If you don’t do anything with the forms on that page and try to leave to a different page, you won’t get any popup message.
If you fill out anything at all in any text field then the problem comes up if you try to leave without submitting the form. The message pops up asking if you are sure you want to leave and changes won’t be saved if you do. It happens on Firefox and Chrome for sure but didn’t try other browsers.
The website owner really wants to have this popup removed.
I tested using a fresh WP and BP install on my local machine, as I said I can’t replicate what you are experiencing which implies that the issue is either with your theme or another plugin. If you test with twenty twenty theme and the issue disappears you know to contact your theme developer, if it continues with twenty twenty theme you will need to try disabling other plugins to see which is causing the problem.
I have just tried to use the basic Twenty Twenty theme (even tried older WordPress Default themes) and disabled every plugin other than BuddyPress and I still get the same message.
Here is a screenshot:

If you fill out the form here: https://vts.aginginplacenews.com/register/
but try to leave without submitting the form, the popup appears.
Ahh the site is using the Legacy Template pack, this doesn’t happen with Nouveau template. You can switch between templates on the options page within buddypress settings.
Unfortunately I’m unfamiliar with this but https://buddypress.org/support/topic/how-to-disable-stay-on-page-confirmation-popup-from-registration-page/ has a possible solution.
Yes that seems to have worked.
I wish I had known to try that much earlier because I tried everything I could possible think of and even experimented with work arounds.
But I’m glad this issue is over.
