Do I want to install on addon domain or subdomain

I have loaded buddypress on my main domain,but have realized the community I am creating is going to grow rapidly. I decided that I would prefer my community to have a website that members can visit directly as well as through the main site. Would I want a subdomain or an addon domain. Is it possible to have the membership info flow between the two, or is that a s2mem question.

@lynneab you would want to go multisite with a subdomain or subdirectory. Just define that your BP will run on the subsite/secondary blog https://codex.buddypress.org/user/install-buddypress-on-a-secondary-blog/
