Do YOU know of any good guides to modify the Admin/Tool bar?

I have the know how to go through and change the CSS to make the Admin/Tool Bar do what I want. However the site I’m doing this for will update the core bp plugin and I’m afraid my changes will be erased.

I know I’m not the first one to wonder how to do this. So I am asking you if you know of any guides to change the admin bar.

Note: I wish the search function on this site actually limited it’s search to the part of the site you are on. Searching for past topics on this doesn’t seem possible.

I’ve tried to implement it though I’m not having much luck. Should I be changing anything within which would allow buddypress to use it?
