dont see an “add friends” “private message” button on my site

wordpress 4.4.1 using buddypress 2.4.3….Im new to buddypress so maybe its just me but I do not see a button for any type of messaging to friends or an add friends button either…..Is there something Im doing wrong?

Hi,

have you activated Private message option in BuddyPress settings ?
have you the same issue when you use one of the Twenty something theme ?

I had same problem during my first go on BuddPree/Wordpress, found problem to be my theme which left no space in members header to show default links for this.

Did what @danbp mentioned and got it fixed with css.

Please excuse my ignorance lol..

When I posted this topic I was looking at my own member profile but upon looking at others have noticed the buttons. Thank you

Have the same problem: new wp install 442 + buddypress 2.5.8, first on theme 2016, then theme quest, both all the links in profile but no “add friend” button,
in bp settings all functions are enabled,
sending private messages works fine,
group owner invite people works, too

changing theme didn’t help.
Has anyone pls a suggestion?
