    @owen_a Based on initial scan, you only need to create two new files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to make your theme compatible with BuddyPress.

    If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your Easel theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your Easel theme folder in server – activity, blogs, forums, members, groups, register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.

    Thank you very much! I’m glad to say that I have it working. Only one thing which I could tweak is the main bar displaying.. Friends, on the profile for example, needs to be moved to the right a little bit. Do you know which part of the CSS handles this?

    @owen_a Not clear. What main bar, the buddybar? And what friends on the profile, in members > friends list? URI pointing to friends on the profile and “main bar”?

    @mercime,

    I have a similar problem using the theme “easel” as well. Following your instructions to @owen_a ‘s problem I was able to correct the header and sidebar alignment problems, but I am still left with one problem in the main posts area of the webpages. The Buddypress bar that displays “Activity Profile Messages Friends Groups Settings” gets cutoff half way through the ‘Settings’ by my site’s right sidebar. Is there a way to correct this using a similar approach as you did earlier here? If so, can you please explain as well as possible and include the code required as I am an amateur with html and ftp and am trying to correct my site’s problem by researching others. An answer would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

    Got to see what’s going on. Site url? Test username and password?

    Here’s the site: http://fifaadvocate.com/members/ However I can’t find how to open the forums, register, or activate pages at the top of my website to make a test account. “anyone can register” is enabled under Settings>General. I’ve tried http://fifaadvocate.com/register/ but this directs me back to the home screen. Anything I can do to open these pages?

    You’re getting quite off-topic here. This is not related to Easel theme in any way. Did you go through the Installation Wizard after you activated BuddyPress?

    == I’ve tried http://fifaadvocate.com/register/ but this directs me back to the home screen. ==

    That usually happens when you’re logged in and then go to register page. You need to log out first. to register. Also, you could always create a test user account via wp-admin Users > Add New

    Okay, back to my first post then on the alignment issue.

    I’m logged in. The dropdown from the BP bar from the “My Account” menu shows up completely. In other words, it does not get cut off half way through. Checked this using Chrome, Firefox and IEabove. What browser are you using?

    Also the dropdown opens up over the left sidebar not right sidebar. Are you referring to something else?

    Going into”My Account” > “Messages” for example (when logged in as ‘test’ this is what I see http://fifaadvocate.com/members/test/messages/ ) the tabs displayed below “Activity Profile Messages Friends Groups Settings” get cut off at Settings. Other alignment problems are present when you visit the “Members” tab in the menu under my Header ( HOME: / ABOUT THE FIFA ADVOCATE/MEMBERS/ACTIVITY/GROUPS or http://fifaadvocate.com/members/ ) . The “Search Members” bar is cut off at the top, once you click on Order By: Last Archive, the options overlap with the right side bar, and the friends request sent next to the Fifa Advocate member is cut off by the right side bar. These were the alignment problems I was referring to, not about the “My Account” drop down menu at the top of the screen, as that displays fine also on my Mac running Safari as well as Firefox.

    Most of the CSS issues can be resolved by adding the styles I mentioned in final instruction

    D. Final note: Copy the style modifications for some BP elements https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste those at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet, then adjust to taste.

    @mercime thanks for all the help, it’s really appreciated. The site is almost 100% except that when I access any of the Buddypress sites the right sidebar drops down as the central column expands. Which CSS file must I edit, I don’t want to risk messing it up as it’s working great.

    @damler My instructions above should have fixed the “right sidebar dropping down”. What do you mean “as the central column expands”? Got to see it, site URL?

    At the bottom of your easel theme’s style.css file.
