    Both the link in the member’s profile as well as the black admin bar link to …/members/username/profile/edit/ and just show a white blank page and doesn’t load.

    I am having a similar issue.

    I am using WordPress version 3.5.1, and BuddyPress version 1.6.4. I have no other plugins installed. Both the WordPress and BuddyPress installs are clean and brand new. I am also using the default BuddyPress theme, though I did set up a child theme which contains only a style.css file.

    Every link on the site works EXCEPT the the Profile > Edit link on the user page for the current, logged in user. When this link is clicked, I am taken to a page that says: “Page not found; We’re sorry, but we can’t find the page that you’re looking for. Perhaps searching will help.” The url in the address bar for this 404 page is “http://mysite.com/members/user1/profile/edit/group/1/,” and I am not sure if this is correct.

    The BuddyPress setting ‘members’ page slug was saved correctly. I am not sure what other steps to take. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    @asalvo1 I would re-upload BuddyPress plugin manually, i.e., via s/FTP

    so how to completely uninstall BP and try reinstall it ? is it only by deleting from plugins ?

    @mercime Thank you for your response. I have already tried to re-upload BuddyPress once before, but I will do so again for good measure. My worry is that every time I face a problem with this plugin, the first recommendation is to re-install it manually. This is not going to be very helpful when I actually start using it and have a lot of content associated with it.

    @afjsystem
    & @mercime For reference, and because I may not be doing something correctly, this is how I have fully and manually uninstalled the plugin:
    1. I deactivated the BuddyPress Default theme
    2. I deactivated the BuddyPress Plugin
    3. I deleted the BuddyPress Plugin (again, the only plugin I had installed)
    4. Using mySQL (through Terminal), I deleted all tables associated with BuddyPress within my WordPress database on my server

    Please let me know if I am doing something incorrectly.

    I will let you know what happens when I reinstall in a bit, but I have to run to a meeting at the moment.

    After doing everything above, and then reinstalling BuddyPress and correctly setting it up (I made sure to follow the BuddyPress tutorials), I am still able to access every link on the site EXCEPT the the Profile > Edit link on the user page for the current, logged in user.

    Please help!

    In order to get this working, I had to reinstall WordPress entirely. This worries me, as I cannot do this every time there is an issue like this on my site. I still do not know what was wrong. I hope this issue, what ever it was, gets fixed in the future.

    I empathize. Of course nobody’s expected to do that at all. Did you read the requirements before installing BuddyPress at https://codex.buddypress.org/user/before-installing/ ? Have you been installing WordPress via webhosts’ scripts?

    I had this working and upgraded wordpress and this seems to have broken this functionality – perhaps there is a bug to be investigated?

    @mercime

    @garethmartin when you upgraded WordPress (from what version to latest?), did you upgrade BuddyPress as well? Did you check if your theme is compatible with WP/BP versions?

    from the previous version of wordpress to WordPress 3.5.1. – i didn’t upgrade buddypress as i had made some modifications to the layout. Everything else works bar the avatar upload/change. When this is changed there is a blank page and hang type behaviour. I’ve tried various permetations of permissions but with no success.
