Editing default template in WP theme editor does not change theme

Hi, I’m trying to edit the default theme, but when I make changes in the wordpress theme editor, the changes are recorded but not displayed. Also, I look at theme folder and changes are not made; however, my changes are saved in the theme editor – weird!! Can you edit bp default theme in wp editor??? Also, if I load childtheme with only one custom page, at the theme editor I see all the theme files, so if I make changes how do I know if they will be saved?!

It’s not recommend to make changes to the default theme because they will be wiped out when you upgrade BuddyPress.

Build a child theme and then try to edit it via the WP Theme Editor and see what happens.

If you continue to get the same problem after creating a child theme, reply back and let us know.
