editing forum posts

  • I’m having a lot of trouble with editing posts in the forums in buddypress – I’ve got WP, buddypress and bbpress installed. I’ve customised the default buddypress theme, but haven’t modified the edit.php file (wp-content/themes/ThemeName/groups/single/forum/edit.php). The edit page loads fine, but clicking ‘submit’ doesn’t do anything. I haven’t touched the core file obviously.

I can’t figure out which function is being called or which action triggered when I edit a post so that I can dig into it to figure out what might be going on. Any advice would be useful. Of note, the post editing functions on bbPress work fine – but I realize that bbPress and buddypress are totally different even though the forum can be accessed from both…

    Thanks!

  • I should also mention that I’ve been able to figure out new posts – appears that the hook is bp_forums_new_post. Wondering if there is a similar hook for editing posts…

    Also should mention…
    1. Running WP 3.1
    2. WP is a directory install in the roo
    4. Upgraded from WP 2.9
    5. Had the same problem with WP 2.9
    6. Buddypress 1.2.8
    8. I have several other plugins installed – LinkWithin, TDOMiniforms, and two custom plugins that have no interaction at all with Buddypress
    9. Using a customized theme, although my problem occurs with the default theme as well
    10. Core is unmodified
    11. No custom fuctions in bp-custom.php
