Email Notifications not working

    Hi,

It seems like the e-mail notifications on my website using Buddypress are not working. No one is getting any e-mail notifications such as private message’s or friendship requests.

Does anyone have the same problem and/or a solution?

    Thanks in advance!

I have the same problem as well. Email notifications come from the forum but not from Groups or Activities Stream.

    Does anyone have a solution?

Storml, recently a similar issue was caused by a custom theme, try testing with a default WordPress theme.

    Hi,
I noticed one strange thing when I checked BuddyPress Emails section on WordPress Dashboard. Many of the “situations” are missing. So it looks like the emails are not connected to any situation. That would explain why the system is not sending them. What about you?
I wonder also if this has something to do with my multilingual setup: I’m using Polylang and Multilanguage BuddyPress with Polylang plugin (https://github.com/awsmug/multilanguage-buddyPress-with-polylang). It used to work perfectly…

Update: my problem was indeed caused by the missing “situations”. We had to add many rows in the database so that we could enable them in the WP Dashboard > Emails. It is still a mystery why they disappeared in the first place.

    Hi,

Thanks for all the help! Especially La_ri_za, turnsout the “situations” were missing on my site aswell. I added them and now it’s all working fine!

Hi. I’ve faced the eamil notifications not working issues in buddypress.
    I Solved
    3 Things you can do.
1.Activate SMTP using “easy WP SMTP” plugin to actiavte your own SMTP.
    2. Check WP Dashboard > Email . There should be many emails list added if not ( it’s empty )
    Restore it from
    3. Tools >> BuddyPress >> Reinstall emails (delete and restore from defaults).

Or Add your custom new email templates in it and Select a “Situation” for each email.

    Hope so it will help
