Email Notifications show html code

I’m using BuddyPress for my new membership, and the notifications emails members receive from BuddyPress when someone tags a member in a forum post (using bbPress) are showing html code.

If someone customizes a post, like adds smiley faces, or bold, italicized text, it shows up like this below.

Susie mentioned you in a status update:
    “Hi @ande!

Thanks for checking on me. ???? I worked through The Process
    <div><span style=”font-size: 24px; font-weight: bold;”>The Process™ Worksheet:</span></div>
    <div></div>
    <div><span style=”color: #09afff; font-weight: bold;”>Step 1: Revelation</span></div>

First thing to try is to recompile the BuddyPress emails in the Dashboard>>Tools>>BuddyPress page. If you’ve modified them though your changes will be lost.

Ah sorry, I didn’t read that properly, so you are trying to insert html, I’m afraid BP Emails struggle with HTML.

Actually, I’ve just tried your code in an email and it worked for me. Are you inserting it in the Text editor, as opposed to the visual editor?

Hey there. Here’s what is happening. When a member posts in the bbPress forum, and uses the BOLD application, or let’s say, creates a bullet list from the menu, it shows up like this in the bbPress forum itself.

Also, when I click “notify me of follow up replies via email” the email I receive looks like this as well.

I get this is a bbPress issue. I’ve messaged them as well.

Ok. Thanks. I’ve turned the html option off on the forums so it will no longer
    cause issues. Thanks.
