Enable BuddyPress causes output of blank pages after log on

    @mophilly

    We have a site running WP 4.9.4 on PHP 7.1 and BuddyPress version 2.9.3.

    For many months the site was working fine. A few things but we seemed to be ok. Sometime on March 26 we noticed the site was delivering blank pages. I deactivated all plugins and began reactivating each, one at a time. (which is painfully time consuming, btw)

    When I enable BuddyPress, the web site delivers blank pages after a user logs on. I have disabled all plugins except Akismet.

    We use Elegant Themes Divi theme, version 3.0.106. I have tested the site with the stock themes and the behavior did not improve.

    I could use some advice on how to debug this. I have also asked for advice at Elegant Themes.

    P.S. I posted this on March 27 then realized it was posted to the “Installing BuddyPress” forum. I am going to delete or update other post to reflect this.

    Have you enabled the wordpress debug and log file? I think that’s where I’d start looking, see if there are any errors shown. I’d also install Debug Bar and Query Monitor.

    Query Monitor will allow you to see if the WP query is failing.

    Right, a white page is a typical PHP Server error. Start by looking in your server’s log files (or asking your host for support to do that).
