Errors in comment threading and friend requests after move to new web host

    WP Version: 4.7.2
    BP Version: 2.7.4
    bbpress: 2.5.12

    Other Plugins:
    * Akismet
    * BadgeOS
    * BuddyPress Pending Activations

    Custom theme: lettermo.com

    There doesn’t appear to be a bp-custom.php file.

    WordPress and BuddyPress both were working fine on the site prior to a move to WP Engine as the new host.

    After the move to the new host, we have experienced two problems. It feels like they both might be simple and/or related but we can’t track it down yet. Will pull server error logs and add after posting.

    *** Comments all posting to the hello-world post instead of the correct post.

    For example, notice that the comments on this page: http://lettermo.com/2017/01/2017lettermo-cards/

    have been posted to the comment thread for this original post: http://lettermo.com/2016/02/hello-world/

    *** Friendship Requests are reported in the interface but users are getting a “You have no pending friendship requests” when they try to view them.

    That error comes from the BadgeOS plugin. You’ll need to talk to that plugin’s developers for support: http://badgeos.org/support/

    Am leaving this topic open for now because you mention multiple issues, let’s try to fix them one at a time (BadgeOS first).

    New information: the commenting issue seems to be theme related. The custom theme Lettermo exhibits the problem across multiple pages on the site, as does Agama Pro that we’re testing. The TwentySeventeen theme seems to bring the comments back into working order. Is it still worth checking to see if BadgeOS is the problem here?

    Difficulty with friend requests: we changed settings on WangGuard which seems to have restored users’ ability to see friend requests. A quick search didn’t show me much back material concerning WangGuard interactions with BuddyPress. This site didn’t behave that way before. Is it possible WangGuard is interfering more with BuddyPress 2.7.4 than with previous versions of BP?
