extending visibility options beyond profile elements

Hi- I’m about to ask a question which I’m sure has already been addressed on here, and I’m just not finding it. I know you can register CPTs with BuddyPress, but can you leverage this connection to allow members to limit the visibility of custom posts they are the author of? This is different from activity visibility.

In other words, User A only wants their friends to see their custom posts, and can assign these permissions, just like stuff on their profile.

Even if there isn’t an off the shelf way to accomplish this, I’m thinking that there has to be some hooks. Thanks!

By the way- great job with this ecosystem. Building a social network the way you have isn’t easy! I’ve been looking under the hood to figure out how you did it!

I’ve recently launched a plugin that would allow you to do that, it’s called BP Post Status and it provides posts statuses of friends only, group only, members only to members can set the visibility of their posts how they like. it works with CPT’s

I did thanks, fixed the issue you pointed out, you should have an update. Keep coming with bugs/suggestions please, the more it gets tested in the real world the better I can make it.
