I am looking to add extra search functionality to the standard search.

I am setting up a site for business consultants the site need to be able to specify certain specialised areas that can narrow down the search results on a given search. Similar to how the search work on this page with the drop down.

I would like to substitute these for area off expertise that the business consultants insert into the profile via check boxes.This is just an example

So this user has chosen Time Management, Accounts, as specialism these can be filter.

Can someone please tell me how difficult this would be, i might have to find a developer for this.
