Failed To Upgrade 1.1.3 to 1.2.1 Although 75% works and 25% Not Work

    @arghagain

    I had follow exact instruction on http://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/upgrading-from-10x/ to upgrade bp 1.1.3 to 1.2.1, and then I used a compatible template bp-social 1.8.1 from premium.wpmudev.org, and also using multi-db 2.9.0 from premium.wpmudev.org. Everything works out fine except activity’s filter is not filtering but update message’s favorite function does work. Also, the private message system is broken.

    The developers there is trying to figure out this with me, but they so far have no solution, and I failed to understand why it’s not working! Since then I revert back to bp 1.1.3 with my backup, and revert db back to its original form, and also using another compatible template which works well with bp 1.1.3. I know you guy not support 1.1.3. This is why it’s urgent for me to upgrade to bp 1.2.1.

    Although I had followed the instruction for upgrading bp 1.1.3 to 1.2.1 to the letter, but the method does work, is there another way that could allow me to upgrade error free on second try?

    I use the latest of everything besides buddypress (now using 1.1.3). Just to list, I use wpmu 2.9.1.1, and multi-db 2.9.0 and latest php5+ and latest apache 2+ and on a dedicated server, and using latest mysql. Only BuddyPress which needs to be upgrade.

    The problem is that I have quite a few users that already using wpmu + bp as social/blogging network. How cuold I mitigate the problem of losing the members’ data and at the same time could fresh install wpmu + bp 1.2.1? Although I’ll do that only if second try of upgrading bp is not working for me again.

    You could see the related thread to my specific problem on http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/buddypress-social-118-activity-link-on-top-menu-could-be-wrong.

    Thanks in advance for who is willing to help me out!
