    Hi Anja,

    You can reinstall 2.2.3, and this error will go away.

    Sorry for the embarrassing inconvenience.

    The issue is known and being looked into and a correction doubtless will be pushed out very soon, for the moment as John James says roll back to previous version if you have encountered this issue:
    Edit// Remove link to 2.2.2.1 zip should have been 2.2.3 ~hnla

    Edit// Issue is resolved – please see comment below for dealing with dashboard access issues.

    Thank you for your reply, but I cannot get acces to my dashboard and my plugins – so how do I do that?
    Once again, thanks for your help

    We’ve released 2.2.3.1 to address this.

    It should appear in your dashboard shortly.

    If the error is preventing you from accessing the dashboard, delete wp-content/plugins/buddypress completely, and try again.

    @i-am-anja – I apologize for the fact that you weren’t provided good info on how to access your dashboard.

    You will need to use FTP or if your host provides a File Manager ( maybe thru cpanel ).
    Then navigate to [your site]/wp-content/plugins/buddypress and either delete the buddypress folder or rename to something else, for example ‘buddypressX’.
    Doing so means BP will not be loaded and you should be able to access your dashboard.

    @shanebp

    BuddyPress does not call class phpmailerException so the error is from something else on your site.
