Favorite on Posts – Non BP theme

What do I need to add to my template for the favorite button to show? I don’t see it anywhere on anything. I’m assuming it is because of my theme?
This is my first time using Buddypress. I tried searching but any similar posts are not answered or refer to a plugin that is no longer kept up.
