This could be a new feature for a plugin such as Group email subscription or maybe a new plugin.
What I would like to see is an option where an admin has the ability to send an email to all none group members promoting a particular group. With the ability to make this feature available to group managers.
The idea is that a standard email would go out to all non members saying something like “Come join me at “Groupname”!
The email body would have more text and a link to the group:
Check out our “groupname” group at “Website name”
Click on the following link to proceed.
I think it would also be a good idea to add the ability for members to opt out of such group promotional emails.
If you made this into a whole new plugin, you could add post promote and forum topic promote and also perhaps link it to a widget/shortcode showing recently featured groups/posts/topics.
