Filter Buddypress Activity Admin Table by date range

I wanted to create a filter for the activity admin table by date. I came across with this functionality http://hookr.io/filters/bp_get_activity_date_recorded/ but was unsuccessful to make it work. Is this possible? Any help would much be appreciated. Thanks
