I want to implement a Forum Ranking System (e.g. Newbie, Experienced, Insane)

The way I want it to work is people move up in the rankings based on how many posts they contribute, and they get double points if someone “likes” or votes for their post.

Is there any plugins that do that type of thing?

The Rate Forum Posts Plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-rate-forum-posts/ does something like this. You would need to tweak it a bit to aggregate the three tiers you are looking for, but it’s a start.

We are currently chatting with the developer about extending this plugin to work with post comments, but it should be possible to get him to add a setting to do what you want as well.
