Hello,

I am running WP 3.7.1 and had bbPress 2.5.1 installed recently. I found this (bbPress) limiting (especially the text editor, and most other things) and discovered BuddyPress 1.8.1. There was much discussion about BuddyPress having forums built in, but it appears that it requires additional plugins to make that happen?

Or am I just misunderstanding how ‘Groups’ work?

I have been going through some Help videos for BuddyPress 1.8 (not 1.8.1) and the 1.7 version and all mention a ‘Forum’ upon installation of BuddyPress, but I didn’t have this option. I assume this was because I uninstalled bbPress before the installation of BuddyPress?

I just need some quick “yes/no”‘s here 🙂

BP no longer carries the cut down version of bbPress, to provide group forums you install standalone bbPress plugin. Please use the BP codex as your documentation source, avoid help videos we’re hearing altogether too much about vague videos that are floating around.
