Forums (BP and bb)

    Hi,

I just installed BP 1.8. I don’t see a Forums Component, nor a Forums Tab in the BuddyPress Settings screen.

After activating bbPress I still don’t see this, even though all resources I seem to find show screenshots of this.

I assume it was moved/removed in 1.8 and those docs are old, or somethings missing.

    Please help.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Yes old. There are codex docs that do guide on using bbPress with BP or migrating older bp group forums to bbPress standalone plugin, jut have another hunt through them.

Thanks guys. Definately referred to those when installing.

This is essentially new WP install with new BP and bb. BP came first. Both at most recent versions.

Most everything seems to be working, but I wonder if somethings missing in those “Tabs” and “Modules”. Are they just gone now.

My biggest concern is that [bbp-forum-index] doesn’t seem that functional. The page that I created to put that shortcode on only has 1 link (continue reading). Also the Edit Page link in the adminbar is missing.

I have 4 created forums that I would expect to display here no?

    Thanks,

    Mike

    I added [bbp-forum-index] to a /test/ page. That worked.

Given the instructions on (https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/), I did the following:

#3 -If you kept the default “forums” slug in Settings > Forums, you can create a new Page via Pages > Add New. Add Title “Forums” and insert the forums index shortcode and/or other bbPress shortcode you’ll find in the bbPress Codex then publish the new page.

    But somethings broken.

    Thanks,

    Mike
