I have Buddypress 1.0.3. Is there a way to count the number of friends the each user has? I’m trying to set up a contest to reward users with the higher number of friends/referrals

Yes, but it depends where you’re displaying this?

Display current # of friends for current user id

echo BP_Friends_Friendship::total_friend_count( $bp->loggedin_user->id );
