Friends wire posts should show in my activity feed

On facebook when a friend updates their status it shows in my feed. I noticed in bp the wire posts from friends don’t show up in it activity feed. I found a way aroundthis by removing the wire and replacing it with an iframe post to a twitter clone blog setup by the site admin.
Since blog posts show in the activity feeds this works, but I believe the wire posts should show up.
