german language-translation for a few words not working

I have the german-language-files in use (.mo and .po files) and there is the english word “Activity” already being translated into the german word “Aktivitäten” within the language-file.
However this single word is actually not being translated into german-language at the website itself.All other words are being translated fine, but this word and another one still keep their english wording.
Anyone a clue what the issue could be about this ? Maybe an error in the .pot-file format or anything else ?
