getting activity stream on homepage (WP default theme)

    I’m having some trouble getting the homepage of my buddypress-enabled WP page (am using the WP default to manage a course) to show the activity stream across the site. When I point the “reading” settings to “Activity Page,” I get a “404 not found” kind of message. I’ve tried different themes, and all seem to have a similar issue.

    I’m a bit confused by the blog posts I’ve found through Google and this wonderful support forum. Some say it’s a quick with the new 3.0 WP, and provide a solution that involves coding (out of my league, I’m sorry to say!). A few others note that this issue has been fixed in the newest buddypress release. I’m running that newest plugin, I believe, so I’m not sure what to do next.

    This issue is addressed in the newer releases of BP.
    Please use the latest release and report back.

    my apologies, I should’ve been more specific in my first post — I’m running 1.2.5.2, which I think is the latest release — just downloaded it today.

    I did an uninstall (delete) of my current BP plugin, and downloaded 1.2.5.2 again and did a fresh install. still seem to have the same problem.
