Give Members Permission to Post on Main Site?

  • Hi,

Maybe this is just a matter of setting the proper role (i.e. subsriber, contributor..), but, along with the functionality of create new blogs and participating as a social networking member, can users create posts on the main site (for approval)? Further, I’d love it if I could have a form (much like the comment form) below a section in the site where they can enter their post directly and submit it into the approval queue…I don’t have a working install going of Buddypress – this is research based on someone’s request to use Buddypress AND to have the functionality I’ve listed above.

    Very kindly,

    Michael

Yes, users can create posts on the main site as long as they’re a contributor or higher. If you’d like to manually approve the posts make the default role contributor or if you’d like them to be able to post on their own make them an author.
