Group Activity Feeds

Just a note to say that an activity feed for each Group would be useful. Or a separate feed for new membership of a group and another for the group wire. It would allow people to keep up with group wire conversation without having to use the email function or keep checking the Group Wire page.

Surprised this wasn’t already implemented or am I missing something?

That would be nice. It could include members activity, forum activity, wire activity. Ya, nice idea. Why don’t you post it in trac as an enhancement ticket?

Glad you like the idea, too.

I’m keen on being able to break down feeds for each specific activity within a group rather than just one group feed, so have suggested this: https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/567

This ‘new members’ feed you are talking about is interesting. The activities of new members for a period of time would be useful. It could provide ‘old’ members a pointer to where the new members need help. New people always feel left out no matter what the environment. Hilighting their activity to introduce themselves, whether they like it or not, is a cool idea.

@Josswinn Great idea, perfect ticket description. I’m specifically hoping to use this feature to tie group activity into Twitter accounts for various University groups.

For example, have an all activity feed for our Alumni Associate group in BP that feeds out to the Alumni Twitter account, displays on the sidebar of the Alumni Associate web site, etc. There’s no end to how useful this could be for us.
