Group Types Hierarchy

When group types feature was being developed, there were conversations about allowing it to have hierarchy. For examples, users can create groups based on interests. Here is a sample of an interest hierarchy:
```
Arts & Entertainment
  Acting
    Theater Acting
    Movie Acting
  Book Club
  Concerts
  Dancing
Sports & Recreation
  Adventure
  Backpacking
  Bicycling
  Camping
  Cycling
```
This would help with creating category parent child relationships like with categories in WordPress. What thoughts are there to extend group types to have hierarchy?

I am new to buddypress, and I certainly would love to have such functionality in my project.

Can somebody please work on this (I’m a noob otherwise i would); I’ve been looking for answers for a couple of months. This is an important needed feature and i see plenty of other people asking for yrs.
