I’m having same problem, driving me absolutely nutty and hardly a thin gout there about how to fix it. I’m quite desperate for a solution. My feeds from my buddypress install work on other sites outside of buddypress, sometimes
it seems to change all the time
Additionally sometimes when adding the feed url wordpress adds in /activity/ into the feed url without asking 🙂 feeds that work one minute don’t the next
For further reference this is the error I get with group feeds
RSS Error: A feed could not be found at http://mysite.com/groups/groupname/feed/. A feed with an invalid mime type may fall victim to this error, or SimplePie was unable to auto-discover it.. Use force_feed() if you are certain this URL is a real feed.
Yes @nomad-one, mine are starting to have mood swings as well. Fickle things!! The individual group feeds I had feeding into my reader have stopped working, and now can’t get any more valid feeds registered at all from the site. Just can’t figure out what to do…
Question: do the WP RSS feeds on your dashboard work?
Reference: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/no-rss-feeds-are-coming-in/
Sounds like maybe there’s some structural BP issues here? I’m equally as desperate to get these to work…how can we figure this out? Or are we S.O.L. until the next BP update??
Update: bad news! Now when I try to get my site-wide activity RSS:
XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: http://mysite/activity/feed/
Line Number 1, Column 2: <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>
-^
Any advice please?
@akukskuks WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? What plugins are installed?
WP 3.5.1
BP 1.8.1
BP Default Theme
Admin Bar Disabler
bbPress
Bp Force Profile
Buddydrive
BuddyPress
BuddyPress Activity Stream Hashtags
BuddyPress Group Email Subscription
BuddyPress Group Extras
Erident Custom Login and Dashboard
Ultimate TinyMCE
Would updating WP to 3.6 help solve this problem?
Also, I did try activating a plugin that I realized was not optimized for BP (WP-only). Could that have been the problem?
