Groups and general functionality

    Hi, I am totally new to BuddyPress and am wondering on the functionality of groups – can I restrict the creation of these groups to the site admin only? I have been using grou.ps for my social network but that is no longer free so looking at BuddyPress as an alternative – how similar is BuddyPress to grou.ps in terms of functionality. Thanks.
