Is there an “official” way to make the homepage show the Groups Listing?
I am building a directory so would prefer to show my groups on the home page not posts or activity stream.

My hack:
1. created a page named groups – with slug groups and using custom permalink %postname% so this page is at domainname.com/groups/

2. set my Reading Settings to show static page – page selected is groups

So when I access my site I get the Groups listing on the homepage.

So my question is there a better way to do this using a plug-in or setting?
