Groups to be shown on /activity page for new users

Currently when a user visits the /groups page all the groups are listed on the page.
And when the /activity page activities of all members are listed on the page.I want to implement a feature wherein on /activity page activities are filtered by groups.
Please let me know how this can be achieved
