@gvcig Tried it but doesn’t seem to work. Anyone else have a suggestion?
seemed to have worked for me.
I have a plugin but its not authored entirely by me. I made it work like how facebooks works. Basically I made it were you only see yourself and friends activity unless you are an administrator and then you see all activity. I don’t think I am doing freebee’s anymore though. Sorry I got bills to pay!

@bphelp That’s your prerogative.
Wasn’t aware you have a plugin in the WP Plugin Repository which is a great way to build “street cred” so others can see how you code and decide if they want to buy a PRO version of the plugin or a new plugin from you.
@mercime I guess your right to a degree, but what if the plugin just has one simple purpose but is kinda complicated in its coding and you would like to make a few bucks for your efforts? If this is the case then having separate versions would not work because the one plugin does the only function it was created to do. I hope you understand what I mean by that. If you have a better suggestion I will welcome it. Thank you!
so may i ask the name of the plugin?
@tizmo I am not creative with names so as it stands its just called “Activity Privacy”! It is still in development so it still needs a little more work. I will announce when its ready. Thanks!
@bphelp Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for capitalism 🙂
Coming from a marketing perspective, I would put myself in the prospective buyer’s shoes with questions like:
– who is selling the product, what has he/she done before and where
– how long with this product be maintained
– how will I get support, how fast is response time
– what are my courses of action if the product is not supported as promised or doesn’t work in my installation, etc.
Just bringing this up because of what you posted in another topic about another developer who decided to make his plugins premium. That developer has already established street cred. There’s nothing I’ve posted above to discourage you at all. There are some guerilla marketers who’ve outsold some corporate-planned marketing campaigns before so hey. here’s wishing you good luck.
@mercime yeah your right about street cred, I wasn’t dogging that developer for making the plugins premium I hope you understand. I don’t blame the developer because it takes time and can be a headache to code plugins, keep them updated, plus computers break and need to be replaced for developers to continue their work so its good to be compensated for your work because you never know when you may have to invest that compensation back into your equipment. Thank you for your advice and the luck, it is appreciated!
