Headers sent by error message

Hi,
I am getting weird error messages. This is got when I clicked ‘Close Topic’ in a forum in my buddypress powered website. I’ve installed the recent versions of wordpress & buddypress.
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/xxx/public_html/index.php:1) in /home/xxx/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 934
Please guide me on this at the earliest. My website has suddenly got stuck and I could not take control of it due to this.
