help !!! private messages not working

i realy need your help.
I have a wordpress site and buddypress installed (latest version) and a couple of weeks ago the site started working strange (after an update).The problem is that when user has a space in his user name private messages are not working.
Can anyone help me? is this wp problem or buddypress problem.
