hidden groups not allowing invites

I am currently building a BP community within which the friends feature is disabled. When a user creates a group set to hidden he is no longer able to invite people into that group. Any way around this?

Do not worry about the compatibility warning. There’s something wrong with the processing of the plugin page somewhere @boonebgorges
