hide content based on member type

Hi there,
I want to hide content based on member type using either of the 2 scenarios, assuming 2 member types – student, teacher:
– Hide page content on a single page, like an entire row on a page for a specific member type, or
– Display menu1 for all users, except teacher. If member type is teacher, display menu2.
My preference is to add to bp-custom, since I make almost all my customization there, but open to other options.Many thanks!
