how do i create a custom page for member register

i am trying to create a register page but when i use the default theme bp_default the same code is redirecting the site to sitname/register and a form is displayed but i had used the same function in my theme to get the register page but it is redirecting to the homepage. So it would be so great if anyone could help me get through this. 🙂
