How do you get a theme to show category hierarchy?

All of the themes don’t show category hierarchy when I add a sidebar plugin for some reason. How can I fix this?

I have this question, too. Has anyone else encountered this? I’m using the default BP theme.

You can add list of categories to the sidebar via default Category widget in dashboard menu Appearance > Widgets, then style it accordingly

Yep. I have the Category widget on my sidebar. I have the Show Hierarchy option enabled. Oddly enough, it works for the Suffusion theme but not the default BP theme.
