How does bp_member_last_active() work?

    I’ve got a client that is wanting to know more about when users were last active, or logged-in on the site.

    I’m aware of bp_member_last_active() but I don’t know what it is tracking and displays. Does it update when a user logs in, or only when a user posts something. So, for example, does it never update when a user logs in, but never posts anything and just lurks, or does the login itself trigger and update and show that as their last activity?

    Update on this:

    I found that the activity record is saved by bp_update_user_last_activity() so the question is about that really. Does bp_update_user_last_activity() update last_activity record for the user upon login, or only upon posting something?
